ROPE WORKS LASHINGS |
|
The art of lashing spars together with ropes to create structures such as bridges and towers was one of the pioneering sills used by 18th and 19th century military engineers who went ahead of an army to pioneer a rout, Today's Scouts use these pioneering skills to construct functional items such as tables, towers, bridges, gateways, and fences. More importantly assembling pioneering structures provides Scouts with excellent hands-on activities for team work and problem solving experiences. Rope Works Laashings is a two disk set of DVDs that presents 19 different lashings in an animated format. the animated format allows emphasis to be placed on the interaction between the rope and the spars without the distraction of hand motions and background graphics. |
